Dr. Sai Bhaskar Reddy Nakka, an accomplished environmental and development expert with over two decades of experience, holds dual Master’s degrees in Applied Geology from IIT Bombay and Geography, and a PhD in Environmental Impact Assessment of polluted waters in Patancheru, one of Asia’s most polluted regions. A CSIR fellowship recipient and advocate for open knowledge, he opposes patents on public-benefit technologies. His expertise includes climate change, disaster management, sustainable agriculture, and water resources. As Director of The Earth Center, he has initiated programs like Earth Centers and Geo Spirit meets. He has contributed to global projects for organizations like the World Bank and UNDP and is a leader in biochar development, cookstove innovation, policy advocacy, and capacity building for sustainable development.
